Essentially, you'll be 9-1-1 for the people who work at or visit our facilities.
CentraCare launched a new emergency communications center to improve safety for our staff in early July and we are looking for the people to help us be successful! In this position, you'll take calls from CentraCare employees who may be facing safety challenges with a patient or visitor.
As a dispatcher, you'll receive emergency and non-emergency calls for a multitude of potential needs (Security, medical, life safety, alarms, etc.
).
You'll query callers quickly and effectively to obtain detailed incident information, and repeat information received from callers accurately in what could be high-stress situations.
You'll need to prioritize calls and initiate appropriate actions based on the incident type and its importance.
You'll be the liaison to local public safety partners (Police, Fire, EMS) in emergency situations and coordinate proper response.
You'll succeed in this role if you remain calm and professional in high stress situations and possess strong communication skills.
That includes communication in writing, by phone, on portable radios, face-to-face and any other type of interaction you can think of with another person.
Strong listening skills are incredibly important.
Additionally, we recommend you can type 40 words per minute or more, considering the sometimes fast-paced nature of this job.
Training or education in public safety or criminal justice, and/or experience as a dispatcher (for a county, EMS organization, bus company, tow company or cab company), first responder (fire, police, EMS, security), Schedule:
Full-time Working 8- or 12-hour Overnight shifts, every other weekend, some holidays Benefits eligible.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
One year of emergency or related dispatching experience preferred.
Ability to maintain calm professionalism in stressful and emotional situations.
Prior Health Care Security/EMS Dispatch Experience preferred.
Accredited Verbal De-escalation Certification, EMR or EMT or Paramedic Medical Certification, ARMER Dispatcher Certification, APCO or Other Accredited Professional Dispatch Certification preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
